A good boat driver has specific skills and habits that help keep everyone safe and make the trip enjoyable.
They Make Safety Priority Number 1
Prioritizes the safety of all passengers by following safety protocols.
Regularly checks and maintains safety equipment.
They encourage everyone to wear PFDs.
They regularly communicate and empower all passengers (including children) to actively participate in the voyage by knowing where safety equipment is, how to use it, and how to be helpful in an emergency.
They are skilled boaters.
Demonstrates comprehensive knowledge and skill in navigating and operating the boat.
Continuously seeks to update and refine boating skills through ongoing training and education.
They know how to tie various knots for different situations.
