Recademics Earns IHEA Approval for New Online Bowhunter Education Course

Modern, live-action training deepens safety, strategy, and field fundamentals for both new and seasoned bowhunters.

Southlake, Texas — September , 2025 — Recademics, a leading provider of online hunter education, just announced that its new Bowhunter Education course has been approved by the International Hunter Education Association–USA (IHEA–USA). The approval expands Recademics’ IHEA-recognized online hunter education platform and delivers a purpose-built course focused specifically on bowhunting safety, strategy, and certification.

“As bowhunters and conservationists ourselves, we’re beyond excited to have earned IHEA-approval for our Bowhunter Education course,” said Mitch Strobl, Co-Founder of Recademics. “This accreditation not only affirms the quality of our curriculum, but highlights our commitment to helping hunters thrive in the field. Whether a hunter needs certification for an urban hunt or is preparing for their first backpack adventure out west, we cover everything they’ll need to know. We’re truly honored to receive IHEA’s official accreditation to teach the next generation of bowhunters and conservationists.”

Built and filmed entirely in the United States, the course offers live-action video, interactive scenarios, and clear knowledge checks to mirror real-world situations and decision-making. It also integrates with Recademics’ existing platform features—mobile access, progress sync, closed captioning—so students can learn anytime, anywhere.

What’s Inside the Bowhunter Education Course

  • Safety First: Treestand and elevated platform safety (safety harnesses, lifelines, equipment best practices), broadhead handling/storage, safe transport, and range protocols.

  • Gear & Setup: Bow fit and draw weight, arrow and broadhead selection, tuning basics, and maintenance.

  • Shot Selection & Recovery: Reading angles, shot placement, blood-trailing, tracking, and game recovery ethics.

  • Skills for Success: Range estimation, wind/thermals, stand placement, ground setups, and in-field problem solving.

  • Field Care & Conservation: Game recovery, meat handling, and principles of responsible, ethical bowhunting.

  • Public/Private Land Know-How: Access etiquette, permission, and seasonal considerations.

“We invested heavily in live-action instruction because it looks, sounds, and feels like the field,” said Jake Waldrop, Co-Founder of Recademics. “It’s the closest thing to standing next to a mentor—paired with the flexibility of high-quality online learning.”
