Southlake, TX – Recademics.com, a Texas-based and Texan-owned provider of online recreational safety certification courses, is proud to announce the launch of its Texas specific boating safety course Reviewed and approved by both the National Association of State Boating Law Administrators (NASBLA) and the Texas Parks & Wildlife Department (TPWD), this course provides a convenient and comprehensive way for Texans and visitors to meet the state’s boater safety education requirements.
Under Texas law, individuals born on or after September 1, 1993, must successfully complete a boater safety education course to legally operate a motorized vessel powered by more than 15 horsepower, a windblown vessel over 14 feet in length, or a personal watercraft (PWC). Additionally, individuals must be at least 13 years old to operate these vessels alone; those under 13 must be accompanied by someone at least 18 years old who is legally permitted to operate the vessel.
“With nearly 6,000 square miles of inland water, Texas offers extensive opportunities for boating, making safety an absolute priority,” said Mitch Strobl, Co-Founder of Recademics.com. “By completing our boater safety course, students not only gain the knowledge and confidence they need to navigate safely, but they also become more safety-conscious boaters who contribute to reducing incidents. Education is key to protecting lives, preserving our natural resources, and ensuring that Texas’ vibrant boating culture thrives for generations to come.”
The Recademics online course covers essential topics such as Texas boating laws, navigation rules, vessel operation, emergency procedures, and environmental stewardship. Featuring interactive multimedia content, quizzes, and practical exercises, Recademics.com aims to provide a learning experience that’s both educational and enjoyable.
In addition to safety training, the course emphasizes environmental conservation, educating boaters on the importance of protecting Texas’ unique aquatic ecosystems, including its lakes, rivers, and coastal habitats that support fish, birds, and other wildlife.
Upon successful completion of the course, students will receive a Boater Education Certificate issued by TPWD, granting them the legal credentials needed to operate a vessel in Texas and reciprocal states.
