Recademics.com Launches California Boater Safety Course

Southlake, TX – Recademics.com, a U.S.-based provider of online recreational safety certification courses, is proud to announce the launch of its California-specific boating safety course. Reviewed and approved by both the National Association of State Boating Law Administrators (NASBLA) and the California State Parks Division of Boating and Waterways (DBW), this course provides a convenient and comprehensive way for Californians and visitors to meet the state’s boater safety education requirements.

Under California law, individuals who operate a motorized vessel on California waters are required to carry a valid California Boater Card, which verifies the successful completion of an approved boater safety education course. The phased-in law currently applies to all boaters.. Additionally, individuals must be at least 16 years old to operate a vessel with an engine of 15 horsepower or greater or a personal watercraft (PWC), while those 12 to 15 may operate with supervision from an adult aged 18 or older who meets the legal requirements.

“With over 840 miles of coastline, thousands of lakes, and extensive river systems, California is truly a land of endless boating opportunities. Ensuring that boaters are educated and safety-conscious is critical to reducing accidents and protecting California’s waterways,” said Mitch Strobl, Co-Founder of Recademics.com. “By completing our boater safety course, students gain the necessary knowledge to operate their vessels responsibly while helping to preserve California’s rich aquatic environment.”

The Recademics online course covers essential topics such as California boating laws, navigation rules, vessel operation, emergency procedures, and environmental stewardship. Featuring interactive multimedia content, quizzes, and practical exercises, Recademics.com provides an engaging learning experience that is both educational and enjoyable.

In addition to safety training, the course emphasizes environmental conservation, educating boaters on the importance of protecting California’s diverse aquatic ecosystems, including its coastal habitats, lakes, and rivers that support fish, birds, and other wildlife.

Upon successful completion of the course, students will receive a Boater Education Certificate, making them eligible to apply for their California Boater Card, which is required for legal operation in California and recognized in reciprocal states.
